Evan Flater (Junior events)
Team Aviawest-Rocky Mountain junior Evan Flater won Bronze at the Canadian Road Championships in Quebec. Flater, a first year junior from Duncan, flatted early in the race, but fought his way back up to the pack. On the final 20 km lap Evan went with what would become the winning 3 rider break. His 2 breakaway companions both rode for Team Quebec and they took turns attacking Evan in the closing kilometers after the trio had worked together to stretch their lead on the pack to almost a minute.
Earlier in the week Evan placed a solid 29th in the Time Trial and was the top western rider in the junior men's Criterium where he placed 9th.

Barb Bialokoz and Carly Grigg
Aviawest-RMB (now Team Aviawest) also had representation in the Women’s tandem race with the team of Barb Bialokoz and Carly Grigg. Carly is visually impaired and is in her first season of bike racing. The tandem team was the only women’s participant so they were racing against the men, however what a great result!
